John Weitz was a German-American fashion designer, writer, and spy. He was born on May 25, 1923, in Berlin, Germany. Weitz began his career as a fashion designer in the 1950s and quickly gained recognition for his tailored menswear designs. He later expanded his brand to include women's fashion as well.
During World War II, Weitz served in the United States Army as a counterintelligence officer and later worked for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the predecessor to the CIA. He used his fashion design business as a cover to travel behind enemy lines and gather intelligence.
In addition to his fashion career, Weitz was also a successful author, writing several books on topics ranging from fashion and style to espionage and military history.
Weitz passed away on October 3, 2002, but his legacy as both a talented designer and a daring spy lives on.
